There’s a hint of melancholy in this one that I completely empathise with. Lovely.

Some days that “if only” feeling hits, when you look in the mirror and wonder about what could have been. Strange that it seems to happen to all of us, whether 20 or 100.
Maybe because you only need a bit of imagination to see that life could have gone in dozens of different directions, and whenever we feel dissatisfied with the way things are going, we ‘regret’ that decision and that path. Human beings are programmed to have regrets.

The last two lines are perfect. We all have our own mirror on life. It’s interesting though to realize that we can smile in the face of aging. Nicely written, Joelle.
Isn’t is strange how someone can be old at 20 or young at 90?
So true! Young at 90 sounds good to me. I find that since I’ve retired, I seem to be more creative and happier than when I was 20. Twenty surrounded me with too many expectations. Life is more peaceful now. Most of the time…ha ha!
You are SO right!
