Strea of Consciousness #Socs Saturday : A taxing situation
Here is the link to Linda Hill’s prompt.
(NOTE: In my haste to publish and get back to that tribulation called tax itemizing, I had to add the above #SoCS picture…and a title, ergo the post change).
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “project.” Use it as a verb, a noun, or both. Have fun!
Fun? What’s that?
I’m sitting at my desk with an entire drawer full of receipts and itemizing my taxes. That’s what you have to do when you’re a self-employed consultant.
Sure, I should neatly put these pieces of paper into slots every month so I wouldn’t have to go through this. Since I haven’t done that in the past 24 years, I doubt I’ll get around to changing my tactics.
I’ll just continue to bitch about it without end and treat the headache it causes me to go through this…Every. D!m#ed. Year!
Missing the credit card statement for March, April, May and October? No problem. Go to the bank’s website and look it up. Sure, it took 4 times to get all the information that I needed, and I’m still missing a few things, but I’m quickly passing the point of, “I have to make sure I get everything,” to “Why the hell do I bother?”
Writer’s block? You betcha.
The good news is that I’m 3/4 of the way done. Once I get past the next hurdle and all this…stuff… is on it’s way to my accountant, I’ll sit down with a chocolate or 10 and let it mingle in with the migraine medication.
One project down. Or so I hope. Unless it kills me first. After that, only 304 more days until January 1, 2018 and I have to worry about doing this all over again.
