Insomnia takes a holiday

If only sleeping were this easy for those of with Insomnia.

If only sleeping were this easy for those of with Insomnia.

For the first time in years, literally…YEARS,  I awoke after 9 hours of sleep feeling rested.

What am I doing differently?

For others who fight with insomnia each night, I’ll mention it.  But at the risk of finding out that it’s simply an anomaly, please don’t consider these things a sure-fire cure.

It was one night of sleep.

It may not EVER happen again–or it may (hopefully) become a routine.

.

  • I’m taking a natural sleep aid.  I’ve been taking it for a month and it wasn’t working any better than the tea for sleep I was using.  If it’s starting to “kick in” that’s great.  I’ll let you know what it is if it keeps working.

  • I’ve been taking yoga classes and practicing my breathing every day with a few simple yoga poses.

  • Last night, I forced myself to forego the urge to turn on the computer at 2am and ordered my brain to go back to bed right after using the bathroom.

That’s it.  No Voodoo incantations, no “in your face” sure-fire magic cures.  Just slogging along like the rest of us, trying to find out what — short of cutting my head off — is going to work.
